I'm using Windows Vista Home Premium.  I had promash before on WindowsXP and never had this problem.  Basically, it seems that when I save my promash files (in the default session or recipes folders under Program Files\ProMash), I can't see them if I navigate to those folders in windows file explorer.  I can, however, still see them when trying to load or save sessions/recipes.  So they're out there somewhere, but windows explorer doesn't see them.  Which makes it difficult to email the files or copy them to my other computer over the network.

As another experiment, I opened a command prompt and "cd"'d into the directories and still couldn't see them.

I've never seen this before and unfortunately don't think I know exactly what led to it to try to reproduce it for you.

Maybe I'm missing something simple, but I have the same exact issue on my new Vista machine.  My XP machine was fine.

Most likely you are putting a period in the filename, such as "my.recipe", which will actually save as my.recipe.rec.  Unfortunately when you do this, Windows will now see the extenstion as ".recipe" and not ".rec" and as such, you wont find it in the ProMash file lookups (although you can using Windows Explorer).

Try saving with a very simple filename, such as "TEST1" and see if that works. Lemme know!

I'm not putting a period in my filenames.  Nor are they visible even in Windows explorer.  I do have spaces in the name, although I've never had problems with spaces in filenames before...  My filenames are things like "American Amber", etc (without the quotes of course.  Then promash appends the .rec to the end of that.

Oh, and I'll give your TEST1 a shot tonight when I get home.  Thanks!

This was discussed several months ago in the "ProMash Help" section (as opposed to "Bug Reports"). I'm not using Vista, so I don't know if this will help or not, but you might want to look at:

Yup, guess it's just another Microsoft "feature".... I found them all in C:\Users\Paul\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\ProMash\recipes as described in that other thread.  Sometimes I just don't understand what Microsoft does...
