This doesn't seem to be in the database. Is it referred to by some other name? If not, does anyone have data on it such that I could add it to my database?

Thanks

Does the SG pppg of 1.040 for maltodextrin imply that this adjunct adds to the SG of the final wort / beer? I am new to brewing, but I understood that maltodextrin was nearly unfermentable, with only about 16% fermentability.

Thank you,

It is almost all unfermentable, but is *does* add gravity and hence changes the OG as it is adding sugar. However, what an unfermentable will do is to raise the FG, IE the final gravity will be higher as you have sugar that will not ferment out to alcohol.

The term 'unfermentable' does not imply an ingredient does not add gravity or sugar, it only implies that sugar (and those gravity points) will not ferment out.

Hope that helps,
