Okay, so i have created several recipes on my home computer. In my brewery i have a computer set up for me to run promash as well. the problem im having is that the recipes i create on my home computer ( running windows 7 64 ultimate) are not accessible through typical windows explorer browsing.

i am able to open the files through promash though they have a lock symbol on the files.

im not sure if im encountering some sort of permission issue or what. any help would be appreciated.

the ultimate goal is to transfer my created recipes via flash drive from my home computer to the brewery computer.

I'm not sure what the lock symbol is but I transfer (email/flash drive) recipe files between my home and my brewery computers all the time. The trick is to save the files in the recipe folder within the Promash folder. The Promash/options/system setting/default_folder  option tells Promash where the recipe files are stored.

You are right, just clicking on a recipe file will not open Promash.

The problem im having is when i search for  the recipe file i created within promash and saved. its not there unless i try to open it from within promash.

for example. if i navigate to the promash folder then to the recipes folder within it there are only three recipes there. the three that came with promash. the ones i created are not there. but if i open up promash and try to open a recipe. they are right there in the recipes folder.

i want to be able to navigate to them from windows explorer and drag and drop them into my flash drive.

did that make any more sense than my previous post?

Check out where Promash is saving the recipes.
On the first Promash Screen go the the OPTIONS tab and then to the SYSTEMS SETTINGS tab.
Then click on the DEFAULT FILE FOLDER BOX  and see where Promash is storing the  recipe files.
You can change this location if you want.

Have a look at this link, it is mostly likely the same issue as with Vista

Once you locate your recipe's best to set your system options to save the files in a new known location
