Clone problems

When I want to clone an ingredient such as a type of hop, it works fine, and I can edit the parameters such as alpha acid, etc. The problems is when I add the cloned items to my inventory, they don't show up as being in my inventory when I click on the button to analyze inventory. I tried deleting the cloned entries and adding them back, setting the amount in inventory to zero, adding to it again, and saving it again, but that doesn't usually work.

I like to use the clone feature so I can just change the alpha acid or some other thing with a certain hop, or maybe make a small change of a particular malt, and not have to start over as a new ingredient, but it almost always causes problems. (Maybe I'm not using it right??)

Thanks for any help with this,
Al

Forum: Bug Reports

I've read some messages on running ProMash in Wine. I've got Wine 1.1.32 installed. I'm not having any problems. I just want to know if anyone is having any problems with the printing in Linux? I wish the program would let you print at least one recipe before you buy it. But, so far it seems like a good program.

Forum: ProMash Help

Logging out in Vista

Since about one and a half year I have Promash running on a PC with Vista. The only problem is that often it won't close properly, especially when I had many windows or menu's opened. Then is the only way to exit Promash via Task manager. It's a minor inconvenience, but does anyone know what can be done about it?

Forum: Bug Reports

Setting SG and % Percentage

Hello all,

First time post.

When I am making a new recipe, I want to be able to just specify the exact percentage of each grain I want in my recipe and then be able to set my target original starting gravity and have the ProMash adjust the amount in lbs of grain I need for each particular grain.

Right now I am having to constantly adjust the weights on each grain to meet the percentages I want, but then it alters my SG and then I have to multiply by whatever factor it was reduced by in order to get to my target SG. It is a royal pain.

Anyone know how to do this without constantly fiddling with the weights constantly??

Forum: ProMash Help

Hot Side Aeration

Fellow brewers, I had a major tragedy today while brewing an IPA. My lautering manifold came apart while I was stirring the mash (I made one of copper pipe sections and "T" connectors). It has never done this in the past.

I quickly realized what had happened and there was no way out of this stuck sparge. I tried everything but there was too much grain in the manifold.

Only thing I could do was carefully dump the entire mash into my empty sanitizing bucket, repair the manifold, then pour mash back into the tun (knowing the whole time I am screwed).

My question: I have never really had a batch suffer HSA. I know the off-flavor from other beers/imports but has anyone had something similar happen? Would this pour back and forth make it undrinkable? I am fermenting now, figured what the hell. If its that bad then I wont keg it.

Thanks!

Forum: Brewing in General
